Zu Fuß auf den Hill von Howth - Dieser Tagesausflug ist bei den Dublinern und den auslänischen Touristen sehr beliebt. Mit der Vortortbahn DART ist man innerhalb von einer halben Stunde dort. Von dem Hügel Shielmartin am Howth Golf Course haben Sie einen phantastischen Blick über die Dublin Bay, die Stadt und diw Wicklow Hills. Wandern Sie von Shielmartin in Richtung See abwärts, und biegen Sie auf der Carrickbrack Road nach links ab. Nach etwa 250 Metern überqueren Sie die Straße und gehen durch ein Tor. Dort biegen Sie nach links ab und begen Sie auf den Cliff Walk. Er ist rund acht Kilometer lang und führt um die Halbinsel herum. Unterwegs kommen Sie am 1814 erbauten Baily-Leuchtturm vorbei, und wenn Sie dem Küstenpfad bis zum Ende folgen landen Sie wieder sicher in Howth Harbour.

Today’s challenging hike strikes an enjoyable balance between forested trails and mountain footpaths, with spectacular views throughout. Depending on your accommodation arrangement, you may finish in Roundwood or continue towards Lough Dan.  

Today’s walk from Laragh to Glenmalure has it all – lakes, waterfalls, dense forests, exposed mountains, and even a 6th-century Monastic Village! Glenmalure marks the halfway point of the Wicklow Way.

The final stretch of the Wicklow Way, from Shillelagh to Clonegal, continues to roll over hills, through forests and on minor roads between a green patchwork of fields.

Leave Dublin behind and plunge into the Wicklow Hills, passing forest, open heather, and farmland, with far-reaching views on offer throughout. Finish in the serene village of Enniskerry.

this is pretty long , took 14 hours with water depot the previous day to collect enroute. It is a recreation of a walk done by tom Crean in 1912 ,  he made a solo dash for help leaving his two comrades in a tent 33 miles away. If you want to know how tom felt,  this is the walk for you.

After a transfer brings you to Iron Bridge, return to Glenmalure over the undulating and forest-cloaked mountain-slopes of the southern Wicklow Hills.
