Begin this morning by retracing the first few km of yesterday’s cycle to Cleggan before following the rugged Atlantic coastline and loughs to Ireland’s only true fjord, Killary Harbour. Surrounded by the mountains of Connemara, the head of the fjord marks the border between Galway and Mayo.

Follow a quiet section of the Wild Atlantic Way to the small coastal village of Cleggan where you catch a 30-minute ferry to the tiny island of Inishbofin, enjoy an afternoon here before heading back to Clifden.
